Senior Aviation Maintenance Technician/Line

JOB REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma /GED. A&P licenses required. Forty two months (42) aircraft maintenance experience which includes twenty-six (26) months experience on aircraft types and equipment operated in the FedEx fleet or equivalent (707, 737, 757, 767, 747, 777, any Airbus type, C17, C141, C5, C-130, DC-8, DC-9, L1011, MD80).

Previous experience does NOT include A&P school, & training. Must be able to obtain A/C run/taxi certification. Ability to determine electrical, avionics, and mechanical, malfunctions and remove /replace components and / or assemblies in all aircraft systems. Familiarity with parts loan procedures, IATP and exchange procedures.

Working knowledge of all applicable aircraft manuals, Manufacturer manuals and wiring diagrams. Must be able to lift and manuever heavy aircraft related components, parts, and equipment. Ability to work odd workweeks, rotating shifts, overtime and holidays. Ability to opertate with limited supervision and ! to sound judgement. Subject to regulatory alcohol and drug testing. A valid non restricted drivers license form the state of residence required.

Description

Perform inspection and assure correct documentation of maintenance, preventive maintenance, repair and alteration in accordance with appropriate maintenance manuals and Inspection Procedures Manual to ensure airworthiness and quality of aircraft maintenance and alterations. Perform maintenance as necessary.

Qualifications

1. Thorough knowledge of reading and interpreting aircraft blueprints, drawings, diagrams, and manuals
2. Thorough knowledge of aircraft systems
3. Thorough knowledge of FAR/JAR inspection procedures, foreign government inspection procedures as applicable, and Inspection Procedures Manual (IPM)
4. Thorough knowledge of Airline Transport Association (ATA) codes
5. Thorough knowledge of CAMP, CIMMS, and LASER computer maintenance tracking programs
6. Thorough knowledge of Repair Station Systems and Federal Aviation Regulations
7. Thorough knowledge of business aircraft inspection programs including but not limited to final closeout procedures, engine installations and hidden damage inspection
8. Thorough knowledge of business aircraft maintenance, preventative maintenance, rebuilding, and alteration as related to inspection buy-off
9. Skill to measure using a variety of precision measuring devices
10 Skill to use basic hand tools necessary to perform job
11. Skill to interpret and operate inspection/test equipment
12. Ability to train employees in the performance of duties in area(s) of qualification
