Currently we are looking for an individual who is looking for an exciting career opportunity as a CRJ Ground School Instructor for our Pilot Training group. The Ground School Instructor conducts pilot ground school for aircraft systems and operational subjects as well as cockpit systems integration training. Responsible for development of course ware for ground training programs including instructor outline and instructional media. Responsible for completing all training reports and records associated with training conducted in required time limits.

Requirements:

Our ideal candidate must have knowledge and experience on large aircraft systems as well as airline flight operations. Previous training experience and PC computer experience are highly desirable. A candidate that may have previous line experience with American Eagle is highly desired. This job is subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing. Additionally, previous employers will be contacted to verify any DOT drug violations and/or refusals to test from the past two years.

Citizenship: United States citizenship or to possess the legal right to work in the U.S.

SUMMARY:

This positions primary responsibility is to conduct FAA mandatory ground training for NJA crewmembers. Subject matter involves the full range of aviation knowledge as well as company procedures, policy and history. The Ground Instructor will be required to provide this training to initial new hires, upgrading and recurrent crewmembers, and remedial training. Classroom presentations utilize lecture, video and computer aided courses.

Additionally the Ground Instructor will be utilized to conduct training to other company personnel on Operations related material. He/She will be expected to assist the Courseware Developer with editing and maintaining classroom presentations, and assist in developing/modifying classroom material. If qualified, flying duties maybe assigned as schedule permits. This position requires residence in the Columbus, Ohio area. Responsibilities include the opportunity to write curriculum, develop and maintain course materials, User Guides, Workbooks, Handouts, web-based training, assessments and other components as required for the specific training need; develop curriculum and courses intended for a variety of delivery methods, including web-based, instructor led, blended learning and computer based tutorials; partner closely with subject matter experts to develop, enhance and revise training materials and resources; provide input into the overall curriculum and course design strategy; and identify appropriate implementation methods and materials to maximize learning; conduct Train-the-Trainer events for instructor readiness.

Essentials: Prior experience in aviation related training; planning, development, and implementation; training presentation development; and scheduling and planning / college degree preferred / FAA licensed Pilot, Dispatcher, or Mechanic preferred.

Duties include but not limited to:

 

· Work with Director of Flight Operations Training, Manager of Flight Training & Standards, and other Training Staff to refine, develop, write and implement training curriculum for the Spirit Training Department.

· Instruct Spirit crew and dispatchers in transport aircraft systems, performance, general subjects, and basic indoctrination under FAR 121 Training Program.

· Must be able to follow Spirit’s FAA approved training curriculum and ensure crew and dispatchers are trained to the highest standards.
