Alaska Airlines is looking for a full time ramp agent.

REPORTS TO: Ground Operations Supervisor

PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Load and offload luggage and cargo with the use of conveyor belts or forklifts
- Transport luggage and cargo to various airport locations, maintaining ramp and warehouse areas, marshalling and pushing back aircraft

This is an outdoor position that includes the following:

- Driving tugs and trucks
- Hooking up ground power units
- Loading and unloading checked bags, mail and freight
- Filling out cargo loading form
- Sorting bags
- Maintaining safety standards
- Assisting disabled passengers
- Lifting, bending, stooping and walking
- Coordinating passenger guidance
- De-icing airplanes
- Directing airplanes
- Commissary and lavatory services (STL only)

Job Description Ramp position includes light computer entry and paperwork filing, loading/unloading aircraft baggage, cargo, and US

Mail, calculating weight and balance information, light ground equipment maintenance, deicing aircraft, handling multiple DCI carriers, answering telephone inquiries from customers.

Requirements

Have a high school diploma or GED
Have a background in aircraft ground handling including aircraft

marshaling, aircraft loading/unloading, weight and balance training, haz

mat training, deicing training
Be familiar with flight following entries and paperwork retention

requirements as required by ASA
Be able to work both inside and outside operations as it relates to

field stations
Be able to work under pressure and maintain a professional attitude
Be able to lift baggage and cargo up to 70 pounds on a consistent basis
Be willing to work shift hours, including nights, weekends and holidays
