AirTran Airways is accepting applications for a Crew Scheduler. Crew Schedulers are responsible for scheduling pilots and flight attendants in the daily operation and rescheduling during irregular operations in compliance with FAR’s, labor agreements, and company policy.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support a safe and on-time operational schedule with the FAR’s, pilot and flight attendant contract, and company policy
- Assign all open flying to crewmembers
- Resolve monthly and daily line-of-time conflicts
- Adjust reserve coverage levels
- Reschedule or assign crews to flights based on direction from Crew Coordinator to assure operational reliability.
- Makes the scheduling adjustment in the computer system, assuring all legalities and contractual obligations are met.
- Interact with Flight Operations, Inflight Services, and crewmembers to communicate scheduling requirements.
- Monitor crew member check-in to assure coverage and notifying line departments for attendance issues
- Advise all crew members of any changes to their schedules
- Arrange unscheduled down-line accommodations, and book unscheduled deadheads
- Monitor all crew and pairing exception reports
- Organize and process trip trades in accordance with labor agreement and company policy.
Job Qualifications:
- Previous scheduling/Bornemann experience preferred
- Previous customer service experience required, preferably in the airline industry
- Computer proficiency
- Excellent telephone communication skills (high volume phone use)
- Multi-task oriented; must be able to prioritize workload in a very stressful environment
- Must be able to work any day/any shift
- Emphasis on punctuality and attendance

- Background:Â Ability to provide 10 years of employment, education, unemployment history per FAR 108.33
