Crew Scheduler – American Eagle Airlines – Fortworth, Texas

Job Description:

A Crew Scheduler prepares and completes all daily operational duties, including accessing and scanning computer listings of crew coverage and requirements for both the current and following day.  Schedulers will also arrange and/or cancel crew hotel and limousine requirements, monitor originating crew sign-in and communicate with crew-members at home base about their schedule. Crew Schedulers work in a very fast-paced environment and must adapt quickly to change in order to meet deadlines.

Job Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be able to exercise sound judgment in making decisions, work with little supervision and have the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.  Candidates must be available to work all shifts including nights, weekends, holidays and days off.  Overtime may be required with little advanced notice.  Candidates must be able to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: One (1) year of customer service/public contact experience

Citizenship: Legal right to work in the United States

Physical Requirements: Candidates must be able to communicate clearly and audibly both orally and in writing.  Ability to learn computer applications and apply knowledge is needed.  Ideal candidate will have the ability to memorize computer entry codes, city codes, understand the 24-hour clock and must be able to read, understand and comprehend both the Pilot and Flight Attendant labor agreements.  Ability to type 25 words per minute (w.p.m.).

Employment Requirements:  Federal law requires American Eagle to determine an applicant’s history of Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and/or alcohol violation(s) or refusal(s) to test before hiring him/her into a safety-sensitive position. This position may be subject to DOT testing.  If applicable to the position, a candidate must fulfill a fingerprint-based criminal background check to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA).  Candidates must also be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US customs security badges, if applicable.
