Mesaba Airlines is accepting applications for a Dispatcher. Responsible for conducting all assigned hub flight operations in compliance with all company and FAA regulations and procedures along with the responsibility of individual flight planning, dispatch releases, flight watch, NOTAMS, signets, TP, and field conditions reports.
Job Description:
- Ensures proper dispatch releases are transmitted to each assigned flight prior to scheduled departure.
- Coordinates with the Dispatch Supervisor and Maintenance Coordinator in regards to mechanical problems and MEL items.
- Updates station and operations personnel on flight and system status.
- Responsible for up to the minute knowledge of current and forecasted weather within the assigned route system.
- Routes or reroutes flights due to weather or maintenance requirements.
- Maintains up to the minute knowledge of current field condition reports of assigned airports.
- Delays or cancels flight with concurrence of Dispatch Supervisor.
- Calculates appropriate fuel loads in regards to weather, alternates, winds aloft, and the highest regard for safety of operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- High school degree or equivalent FAA approved Dispatch license
- FAA approved Dispatch license
- Must possess a valid passport
- Good oral and written skills
- Good problem solving abilities
- Able to work in an office environment under stressful situations
- Working Hours are 80 hours in a two week period, working 10 hour days
- One month classroom training
- One month on the job training
- 5 hours training in cockpit
