External Description:
Basic Purpose and Function:
To instruct pilots and dispatchers in various forms of instruction required by
regulation or company policy.
To develop curriculums and programs to meet the instructional duties assigned
them.
Communication:
Internally:
The ACGI will communicate frequently with the other ground instructors, check
airmen/flight instructors, Manager-Training Development, the Fleet Managers, and
Technical Writer.
Externally:
The ACGI will communicate frequently with pilots, flight attendants, in-flight
training, dispatchers, and vendors.
Major Responsibility (Functions/Duties):
Instruct pilots, check airmen, and dispatchers subjects that are classified as
ground instruction pertaining to aircraft systems and performance, general
subjects, weather, regulations, current industry topics, etc.
Research and development of ground and flight training: content, programs,
curriculums, bulletins, and other related FST subject matter
Qualifications:
FAA Ground Instructor certificate
Associate or Bachelors degree preferred with a major in an aeronautical field.
DC9/MD80/B717 systems instruction experience preferred
Minimum 2 year previous experience teaching transport category aircraft systems
or Pt 121 general subjects required.
Strong oral and written communication skills required.
Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) required.
Commercial pilot certificate, Flight Instructor certificate or air crew
experience preferred.
