JOB LOCATION: Columbus, OH

SUMMARY:

This positions primary responsibility is to conduct FAA mandatory ground training for NJA crewmembers. Subject matter involves the full range of aviation knowledge as well as company procedures, policy and history. The Ground Instructor will be required to provide this training to initial new hires, upgrading and recurrent crewmembers, and remedial training. Classroom presentations utilize lecture, video and computer aided courses.

Additionally the Ground Instructor will be utilized to conduct training to other company personnel on Operations related material. He/She will be expected to assist the Courseware Developer with editing and maintaining classroom presentations, and assist in developing/modifying classroom material. If qualified, flying duties maybe assigned as schedule permits. This position requires residence in the Columbus, Ohio area. The Ground Instructor will be expected to adhere to NetJets’ Vision, Mission, and Values.

BUSINESS RESULTS / DELIVERABLES

  • Capable of teaching all regulatory and non-regulatory classes to NJA crewmember
  • Comply with FAA requirements, NJA Training Program, and NJA policy in classroom presentations
  • Timely notification and escalation of issues within the training department.
  • Positive relationships with crew members.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Administrator / Communicator / Relationship Builder

  • Conduct classroom presentations in accordance with published schedules, training outlines and training manual.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to increasing crew member satisfaction by delivering friendly, courteous service to all internal and external clients.
  • Performs with accuracy, thoroughness and effectiveness.
  • Provides timely and accurate notification and escalation of issues to appropriate Training Department personnel.
  • Assist in the deployment of the classroom presentations and material.
  • Maintain accurate and complete record of training conducted.
  • Provides crew members a complete, timely and accurate resolution to questions.
    • Actively manages and completes task deadlines as necessary.
  • Communicates and coordinates with other groups and departments those activities which require immediate attention.
  • Suggests new ideas that make sense for the Crew Training department to increase efficiency.
  • Assists with Training & Standards Department and Flight Operations related projects and activities as assigned by management.

Business Partner / Marketer

  • Teams with all Ground Instructor personnel to complete daily and other assigned tasks.
  • Partners and teams with Program Managers, Crew Delivery, Operations Administration, Finance (payroll/T&E), Operations Contract Administration, Safety & Government Relations and Vendors.
  • Provides the highest level of service for all crew members and employees within FAA parameters
  • Champions ongoing crew member service by communicating crew member suggestions.
  • Empowered to proactively resolve issues for crew members and communicate results to Manager
  • Partners and teams with fellow Training & Standards personnel for continual team efficiency and effectiveness.

Process Owner

  • Adopts NetJets business and ethics standards and policies.
  • Adheres to all Flight Crew Training processes.
  • Evaluates various situations and makes recommendations to management .
  • Maintains a basic understanding of Flight Operations.
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of all applicable FARs, NJA FOM and Crew Member Operations.
  • Offers suggestions for improving current training processes for increased service levels and cost savings to NetJets.
  • Fosters proactive rather than reactive environment.
  • Fosters a cohesive team environment between Training & Standards and the rest of the Flight Operations.

SAFETY – Demonstrates good safety behavior and attitude, follows regulatory practices and rules, recognizes and reports hazards and promotes a safety culture.

Process Management

  • Effectively utilizes applicable processes and procedures to complete roles and responsibilities; investigates opportunities to increase process efficiency. Measures the effectiveness and seeks to continually improve the quality of processes.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Business, Education or other related field.
  • Proven experience in one on one and group training techniques with strong platform/classroom facilitation skills and classroom management techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn technical and complex concepts and meet diverse learner needs by selecting appropriate methodologies to maximize learning.
  • Ability to manage time and meet deadlines in a multi-task environment both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must possess one of the following: Line qualification in aircraft type operated by NetJets, Airline Transport Pilot, Certified Flight Instructor or Advanced Ground Instructor certificate.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven experience in team building and customer service essential.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
