Successful candidates will proactively drive significant near term improvements in fleet operational performance, impacting overall airline performance positively, and providing the foundation for sustained high performance.
These positions will oversee and be responsible for the overall coordination of aircraft, engine and component maintenance programs and operations focused on delivering reliable and cost-effective maintenance solutions to American Airlines. Responsible for the “best in class” technical “health” of the fleet and for developing measurements indicative of that health, and creative corrective action programs to address deficiencies. Reviews and analyzes reports, records, operational measures and directives. Works closely with M&E and Technical Operations departments to identify, through gap analysis, areas requiring improvements. Evaluates corrective action plans and monitors them for effectiveness once implemented. Influences positive performance through communication and coordination between departments and stakeholders. Influences the allocation of financial, capacity and maintenance resources at line and base maintenance to best execute maintenance programs. Jointly leads the Dependability Control Board (DCB) as well as the Reliability Control Board (RCB). Represents AA at the applicable industry and governmental activities. Prepares reporting and other documentation for use by the Fleet Management team, using computer. Assigns tasks and evaluates work product of assigned Fleet Analyst. Reports to the Managing Director – Fleet Management.
Qualifications
Comprehensive and diverse experience in maintenance, engineering and/or technical support departments working with aircraft, engine and component systems
College or applicable technical degree required.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Identify and evaluate aircraft / fleet performance data and tends and identify performance and process areas that require attention using
Creative problem solving and solution(s) development
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely with peers and co-workers in other departments and organizations
Familiarity with functional area and assigned fleet, as well as other supporting organizational processes.
Strong communication skills including the use of PCs and electronic media.
Must be able to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language.
When applicable, may be required to work rotating shifts, nights and weekends.
Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable.
Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable.
While current position is based at TUL, must be willing to relocate, as necessary
